– Spain has reported its first death from H1N1—the first in the European Union, Reuters reports. The 33-year-old male victim, who had recently traveled to Mexico, is the first EU fatality from the disease, which has now spread to more than 200 countries and killed at least 829, according to the World Health Organization. Spain’s health minister says the victim had recently traveled to Mexico, had underlying health problems, and had not been in close contact with anyone who had been infected. The disease has also spread to at least four other European countries: The Czech Republic, Netherlands, Denmark, and Belgium.
