I’m up on cloud nine but this is only the beginning of my journey.” That was William “mezii” Merriman’s tweet Saturday, announcing he’d signed a three-year, $426,000 contract with the Cloud9 e-sports team. Merriman, a 21-year-old from the UK, is a champion in the “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive” competition, ESPN reports. Merriman competed with Vexed Gaming for 10 months before joining Team GamerLegion for a short stint. He will join ALEX and Cloud9 coach Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunovic.
