⁍ The Czech Republic is currently battling a sharp increase in COVID-19 infections.

– The Czech Republic is in the midst of a severe outbreak of a new strain of coronavirus that has killed at least 10 people and sickened dozens more, Reuters reports. The government has declared a state of emergency and warned that it could declare a state of emergency again if the outbreak continues. The latest case was a 12-year-old boy who died last week. British violinist Daniel Hope gave a free concert on a floating stage on the Vltava river in the center of Prague on Saturday night with the Epoque Orchestra. He performed “Vivaldi Recomposed” by Max Richter, a reinterpretation of the Italian composer’s “Four Seasons,” as well as a new version of the Czech composer Bedrich Smetana’s “Vltava,” which is named after the river.
