– Israel has locked down its borders, schools, and workplaces for the second time this year amid an outbreak of the respiratory illness known as coronavirus. Some 5,000 cases have been reported in the country so far, with three deaths, the AP reports. Health officials say the lockdown, in place for three weeks, may not be long enough to slow the spread, Reuters reports. Hospital officials say they’re already at capacity, with half of their 60 patients in serious condition. “Right now we are 72% full, and every day we have more and more new patients,” says a spokesman for one Tel Aviv hospital. “There’s not enough capacity.” Israel’s defense minister says the military has been told to build a field hospital to deal with what he calls “worst-case scenarios.”
