– US crude oil inventories fell by 1.6 million barrels in the week ending Sept. 18, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday. Reuters reports that analysts had expected a 2.3 million-barrel drop. Refinery crude runs fell by 118,000 barrels per day. gasoline stocks fell by 4 million barrels to 227.5 million barrels, compared with analysts’ expectations in a Reuters poll for a 648,000-barrel drop. Distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, fell by 3.4 million barrels to 175.9 million barrels, versus analysts’ expectations for a 1 million-barrel rise. Net US crude imports fell by 267,000 barrels per day.
