⁍ Sefcovic noted however that the internal market bill had created a lot of political difficulties.
– The European Union says it won’t negotiate with Britain on a post-Brexit trade deal even if it breaks up the UK’s divorce with the EU, the AP reports. EU Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic said Monday that the EU will never give in to British attempts to break the Brexit treaty. “The introduction of the internal market bill and the contentions articles created a very difficult political situation,” Sefcovic said. “It will never be the EU which would cause the end of the negotiation on the future partnership between the EU and the UK.” Britain is due to leave the EU in March, and the EU has until the end of the year to negotiate a new trade relationship with the country.
