– A New York real estate investor has sued Carlton Fields and shareholder attorney Brian Hart, claiming their conduct in a Florida real estate deal cost the investor $40 million, Westlaw Today reports. Frydco Capital Group says in its complaint that Fields and Hart, who are also named in the suit, “made false, misleading, and fraudulent representations” to Frydco in connection with a real estate deal between Frydco and Carlton Fields’ company, Frydco Partners. According to the suit, the deal was never approved by the board of directors of Frydco, and Fields and Hart “used their position as board members to advance their personal and business interests at the expense of Frydco.” Frydco is seeking $40 million in damages. In a statement, Fields says the suit is “baseless” and “we will defend it.”
