– For the first time in its history, the LPGA Tour will cut the 36-hole cut to 60 players during the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship on Dec. 17-20 in Naples, Fla. The tournament will now feature a 72-hole field of 70 players, up from 60, plus two sponsor exemptions, per Golf.com. The winner will earn $1.1 million, the highest first-place prize on the tour. “The 2020 LPGA Tour season has certainly faced its challenges, and thanks to incredible partners like CME Group, we have been able to stage competitive opportunities for our players,” said LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan in a statement. “We believe this year’s Tour Championship will provide an exciting finish to one the most uncertain years in history.”
