⁍ Trump understated the seriousness of the coronavirus outbreak in its early stages and has repeatedly predicted it would go away.
– “We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately,” President Trump tweeted early Friday. “We will get through this TOGETHER!” The president and his wife, Melania, have tested positive for the SARS-like virus known as coronavirus, reports Reuters. The 74-year-old is in isolation, though he is showing mild symptoms and is not incapacitated, says a White House official. His 10-year-old son, Barron, has also tested negative for the virus. Vice President Mike Pence and his wife have also tested negative for the virus. Pence’s staff has been isolated from Trump’s staff “out of an abundance of caution,” says a White House official, per CNN.
