⁍ Two committee members, Republicans Thom Tillis and Mike Lee, tested positive for COVID-19 in recent days.
– The confirmation hearing for Amy Coney Barrett, President Trump’s nominee to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court, will go ahead as scheduled on Oct. 12, the Senate Judiciary Committee announced Monday. The committee’s chairman, Republican Lindsey Graham, said the hearing would be in a hybrid format, with some members connected remotely, because of the coronavirus, Reuters reports. “We are going ahead with the full, thorough, and timely confirmation process that Judge Barrett and the court deserve,” said Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Two committee members tested positive for the virus in recent days.
