⁍ efficacy data on one or two vaccines will be available within the next month or two, for which there will be enough doses to immunize 30 million people between November and December.

⁍ Data readouts on the vaccine’s effectiveness may be expected somewhere in late October or November from ongoing studies in the UK, Brazil and South Africa.

– Two experimental vaccines designed to fight the Ebola virus are expected to hit the market in the coming months, reports the New York Times. Pfizer and Moderna are working on vaccines based on messenger RNA, or mRNA, which is far more easily transmitted from person to person than traditional viruses. The development follows the release of the first Ebola vaccine last month. The second vaccine, made from a different strain of the virus, is expected to hit the market in early 2014. If it works, it could be used to fight the current outbreak of the virus in Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone.
