– Tesla wants to boost production of electric cars, and it’s in talks with one of the world’s biggest mining companies to do so, Bloomberg reports. Sources say Tesla is in talks with BHP Group about a nickel supply deal, though no final agreement has been reached yet. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a July earnings call that the current cost of batteries was a big problem for the company and urged miners to produce more nickel, a key ingredient in batteries that power the company’s electric cars.
