⁍ Cameron LNG said it will shut its liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Louisiana this morning as Hurricane Delta approaches the Gulf Coast.
⁍ Cheniere Energy Inc reduced the amount of natural gas flowing to its Sabine Pass LNG export plant in Louisiana.
⁍ Energy traders said the drop in U.S. LNG exports from Laura and now the expected decline from Delta helped boost gas prices in Europe and Asia to their highest since the start of the year.
– The last time a major hurricane made landfall on the Louisiana coast, the storm was named Laura. On Friday, Hurricane Delta is expected to make landfall as a Category 1 hurricane, reports Reuters. The Cameron LNG export plant in Cameron, La., will be shut down Friday morning as well as Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG export plant. Both facilities were evacuated before Laura made landfall.
