– It’s not the kind of headline you’d expect to read on the first day of a presidential campaign, but that’s exactly what happened in the case of Hillary Clinton. The New York Times reports that as she left the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, she was greeted by chants of “Run, Hillary, run!” Clinton’s campaign manager, Robby Mook, said in a statement that the former secretary of state was “in great spirits” and that the DNC had a “tremendous amount of fun” with her speech. “She spoke clearly and powerfully about the importance of unity and the need to work together for the good of our country.” The Times notes that Clinton’s concession speech, in which she said the US “cannot afford to retreat” from the fight against ISIS, was her first big public appearance since last year’s election.
