⁍ The award, which partially mirrors U.S. tariffs on Airbus jets, threatens to stoke transatlantic trade tensions.
⁍ negotiators on both sides say it could also lead to discussions to resolve a 16-year legal battle.
– The World Trade Organization has ruled in favor of the European Union in its long-running battle with the US over subsidies granted to Boeing, Reuters reports. The ruling allows the EU to impose tariffs on $4 billion worth of US goods. The US had already imposed tariffs on European steel and aluminum. The ruling will also allow the EU to impose tariffs on American cars and aircraft, according to the Wall Street Journal. The decision comes after a 16-year legal battle.
