– The Dow fell more than 100 points in the first minutes of trading Thursday after President Trump said he was open to boosting the economy with a fiscal stimulus package, the Wall Street Journal reports. The Dow was down as much as 465 points shortly after the open, though it recovered some. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq were down more than 1% at one point. Trump said he was open to boosting the size of the stimulus package from the current $500 billion to as much as $775 billion, though he added that the size of the package would have to be increased to get a deal done before the Nov. 3 election. The Journal notes that even if a deal is reached, it is unlikely Trump will be able to get a tax-cut extension passed before the election.
