⁍ Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said on Friday his company had been wrong to block links to an article.

– Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey says the company was wrong to block links to a story about Joe Biden’s son that was published by the New York Post, Reuters reports. “Our goal is to attempt to add context, and now we have capabilities to do that,” Dorsey tweeted Friday. “Blocking a story because we were wrong is never the right thing to do.” He said the blocking of links to the Post story was in line with Twitter’s policy against “violating the rules on private personal information.” Republican senators Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, and Josh Hawley said Thursday they would vote Tuesday on sending a subpoena to Dorsey over the blocking of links to the Post story. The blocking of links to the story led to Twitter restricting the accounts of the Trump campaign and of Biden’s campaign on Thursday. Twitter said the stories would still be blocked for “violating the rules on private personal information,” the AP reports. The company said it would make changes to its hacked materials policy following feedback on its enforcement earlier. Twitter policy chief Vijaya Gadde said late Thursday the company has decided to make changes to its hacked materials policy following feedback on its enforcement earlier. The Hacked Material Policy was introduced in 2018 to discourage the spread of private information following hacks and unauthorized exposures. Twitter also said despite the new policy the New York Post story would still be blocked.
