⁍ As of midnight, London was moved up to the ‘tier 2’ or ‘high-risk’ level.
⁍ This bans people from meeting anybody outside their household or ‘support bubble’
The protesters view COVID-19 restrictions as unnecessary and a breach of their human rights.
– British health officials have raised the country’s Ebola alert level to the second-highest level, the BBC reports. London was moved up to the second-highest level, or “high-risk,” as of midnight local time, meaning that people can’t meet outside of their homes, and more than six people can’t meet outside of their homes; they can’t wear masks or goggles, Reuters reports. Meanwhile, thousands of anti-lockdown protesters took to the streets in London yesterday, protesting the new restrictions. “There’s plenty of things that can kill you, you know, it could happen any day,” said one protester. “It’s about living, not just surviving. We want to be able to enjoy our lives, not just be stuck at home.”
