– Haruhiko Kuroda, the governor of Japan’s Bank of Japan, says the country’s monetary policy is already “quite similar” to the US Federal Reserve’s in terms of its inflation target and guidance, Reuters reports. “We have no intention to change our inflation targeting policy and forward guidance,” Kuroda said in a speech Sunday, adding that Japan’s economic activity is “gradually bottoming out.” Kuroda’s speech comes as the Fed and the European Central Bank are both reviewing their policies to try to boost growth.
