⁍ Czech Republic will wait at least two weeks before deciding whether to order a full lockdown to stem its epidemic.

⁍ In the past week, bars and restaurants have been ordered to close except for takeout orders.

⁍ On Saturday, the Czech Republic reported 8,713 new cases.

– The Czech Republic, which has the highest infection rate in Europe from a virus known as coronavirus, is considering a full lockdown to combat the outbreak, Reuters reports. Schools, bars, and cinemas have already closed, and more than 8,000 new cases have been reported in the past two weeks. But officials say they won’t make a final decision on a lockdown until they get results of tests this week. “We will not decide this week about a lockdown,” the country’s deputy prime minister said yesterday. “We have clearly said we will wait (until Nov. 2) for results.” If the latest measures aren’t enough to stem the outbreak, officials say there are few other options other than a lockdown.
