⁍ Biden also criticized Trump for saying the United States had ‘turned the corner’ in the coronavirus pandemic.

– With less than two weeks to the election, a record number of Americans have already voted—and President Trump wants them to vote early. “Early voting is under way, so get out and vote,” Trump told supporters in Carson City, Nevada, where early voting began Saturday, Reuters reports. Some 27.9 million Americans have already voted by mail or in person ahead of the Nov. 3 election, according to the US Elections Project at the University of Florida. The record-shattering figure is being driven in part by concerns about crowds at polling sites on Election Day during the coronavirus pandemic. At a rally in Carson City, Nevada, on Saturday, Trump mocked Joe Biden for his cautious approach toward the pandemic. “Listen to the scientists! If I listened totally to the scientists, we would right now have a country that would be in a massive depression,” Trump said. The Biden campaign responded almost immediately. “New coronavirus cases are surging and layoffs are rising,” said spokesman Andrew Bates. Biden’s pick for vice president, Sen. Kamala Harris, canceled in-person events over the weekend as a precaution after an aide tested positive for COVID-19. She will return to the campaign trail on Monday with a visit to Florida to mark that state’s first day of early in-person voting. Harris tested negative for the virus on Sunday, the campaign said.
