– A deadly virus that has spread through Australia has killed one person and sickened more than 20,000, but health officials say they’re close to declaring an end to the outbreak. Victoria state has seen the most cases in the country with 20,323, of which 109 are still active, reports Reuters. The state government says it hopes to announce easing measures at the weekend, including allowing pop-up restaurants in public gardens. “We do genuinely hope on Sunday to make some announcements in the future, and if these numbers stay on trend we will be able to do that,” says state Premier Daniel Andrews.
