⁍ Goldman Sachs Malaysia, a unit of the Wall Street investment banking group, on Thursday pleaded guilty to U.S. Department of Justice charges.


⁍ In a court hearing, Goldman Sachs said it would plead guilty to violating the anti-bribery provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.


⁍ Later today, Goldman will agree to pay more than $2 billion to settle the charges over its role in the scandal.


– Goldman Sachs will plead guilty to violating the anti-bribery provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in connection with Malaysia’s 1MDB state investment fund, the Wall Street Journal reports. According to Reuters, the plea deal will see Goldman pay $2 billion in fines. The charges stem from the 1MDB scandal, in which Malaysian officials allegedly bribed their way into running the fund.
