– Protesters took to the streets of Nigeria’s biggest city Thursday to call for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, following days of unrest that left at least 12 dead and hundreds injured, the AP reports. The protesters are calling for the resignation of Buhari, who was democratically elected in 2015, as well as for the resignation of the country’s vice president and other top government officials. They say they’re fed up with corruption, economic mismanagement, and alleged human rights abuses by Buhari’s government. The president, who was re-elected in 2015, has been accused of stealing the 2015 election by groups including the opposition People’s Democratic Party.
