– The number of cases of coronavirus, a respiratory illness related to the common cold, has jumped to 238,323 in the Czech Republic as of Oct. 23, according to the country’s health ministry. That’s the highest number of cases in the European Union so far this year, Reuters reports. Of those, 1,971 have died, according to the ministry.
