⁍ The spread of the virus in France has accelerated rapidly in recent weeks.
⁍ On Friday, 122 people were admitted to ICU.
⁍ The number of patients in intensive care units now stands at 2,441.
– “In 15 days, we will see the consequences of these infections,” France’s health minister said Saturday, referring to coronavirus, which has now infected more than a million people in the country and killed four, Reuters reports. “The progression of the epidemic is not over. We still have hard times ahead of us,” Prime Minister Jean Castex said. To combat the outbreak, France has instituted a state of emergency and extended an overnight curfew in eight major cities, as well as in rural areas. More than two-thirds of the country is under lockdown.
