⁍ The England test captain expects Jos Buttler to replicate his limited-overs dominance in test cricket.
⁍ Root is considered one of the four best batsmen in contemporary cricket.
– Joe Root, captain of England’s test team, says he’d put himself in the “greatest” bracket when it comes to cricket players, Reuters reports. “You’re looking at three of the greatest players the game has seen,” Root says. “They’re three brilliant people to watch play and learn from. I’m sure I’d put myself in their bracket, to be honest.” That would be India’sVir Kohli, Australia’s Steve Smith, and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson. “Vir is probably the most complete player out of them across formats,” Root says. “His ability to chase things down in limited-overs format and to pace it as often as he does well as he does and be not out at the end is extraordinary. He’s got a very good all-round game but you wouldn’t say he’s weaker against spin or pace.”
