– Poland’s new near-total ban on abortion has sparked four days of protests, with hundreds taking to the streets inside and outside the country’s churches, Reuters reports. Protesters spray-painted “abortion without borders” on churches, hung banners reading “Catholic women also need their right to abortion” in front of altars, and handed priests cards symbolizing their protest. “I’m here today because it annoys me that in a secular country the church decides for me what rights I have, what I can do, and what I’m not allowed to do,” said a 26-year-old protesting in front of a church in Warsaw. “The Catholic Church has the right to decide what rights I have, what I can do, and what I’m not allowed to do.”
