– British special forces stormed a Greek-operated oil tanker in the English Channel on Sunday to wrestle control of the vessel from seven stowaways who had threatened the crew in a suspected hijacking, Reuters reports. The tanker was on its way to Greece from Singapore when the stowaways, who were armed with knives and at least one rocket-propelled grenade, boarded and threatened the ship. The crew managed to escape, but the stowaways were taken into custody by the British armed forces and the Coast Guard.
