⁍ The state delayed the easing of restrictions because of a fresh outbreak in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.

⁍ Australia has so far recorded just over 27,500 infections, far fewer than many other developed countries.

– It’s good news for Australia: No new cases of the deadly Middle East virus known as coronavirus have been reported in the state of Victoria in the past 24 hours. That’s the first time since June the state has seen no new infections from the disease, which has killed 905 people in Australia and sickened more than 27,500, Reuters reports. The news comes a day after the state delayed an easing of restrictions because of a new outbreak in five suburbs.
