– China may be the world’s No. 1 auto market, but by 2035, sales of new energy vehicles—including battery electric, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles—will make up half of all new car sales there, Reuters reports. The president of the China Society of Automotive Engineers (China-SAE), an industry body, told an industry conference yesterday that 95% of NEV sales in 2035 will be battery electric vehicles. Li Jun added hybrid vehicles will make up the rest 50% of all new vehicle sales by 2035. Industry expects China to sell around 1.1 million NEVs this year.
