– A former YouTube content moderator says she developed PTSD and anxiety after watching beheadings, cannibalism, and animal mutilations—and the video-sharing site should have done more to protect her, according to a proposed class-action lawsuit. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, filed the suit Saturday against YouTube and its parent company, Google, alleging negligence on the part of the companies, the Los Angeles Times reports. According to the lawsuit, Jane Doe, who worked as a content moderator from 2009 to 2011, says she developed anxiety and PTSD after watching graphic videos, including those of beheadings and cannibalism. She says the videos made her feel “disgruntled, ashamed, and ashamed of myself.” Jane Doe’s suit is seeking damages for all current and former YouTube content moderators who may have been affected by violent and disturbing videos, according to Westlaw Today.
