⁍ ANA Holdings Inc, Japan’s biggest airline, forecast a record operating loss of 505 billion yen for the year to March.

⁍ coronavirus-related travel restrictions forced it to cancel flights and ground aircraft.

⁍ On Tuesday, ANA said it would retire 35 planes, 28 of them early, including 22 Boeing Co 777 widebodies and delay delivery of one 777 and one Airbus SE A380 superjumbo.

– Japan’s biggest airline is expecting to report a record $4.5 billion loss for the year ending March because of the H7N9 virus, which has forced it to cancel thousands of flights. All Nippon Airways says it will retire 35 planes, 28 of them early, and delay the delivery of one 777 and one A380, reports Reuters. The airline, which has secured $3.8 billion in subordinated loans from state-backed and private lenders, says the downturn in domestic travel will last for two years, with international routes unlikely to recover until 2024.
