– The head of the Muslim World League in Saudi Arabia is among those calling for a boycott of French products in response to cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that have been displayed in France in the wake of the beheading of a teacher who showed them to her students, Reuters reports. Mohammed al-Issa says an “over-reaction” to the cartoons “is negative and goes beyond what is acceptable” and will only benefit “haters.” France’s ambassador to the Muslim world, Gerard Collomb, says he’s “irritated” by the boycott calls, the AP reports. He says the cartoons are “inherently offensive” to Muslims and France will continue to defend free speech. In other developments:
