The launch comes in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic that has boosted gaming companies’ revenues.


– Sony’s PlayStation 5 console goes on sale Nov. 12, and the company says pre-orders for the console have been “very, very considerable.” That’s compared to pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 in the first 12 weeks, the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment tells Reuters. “It may well be that not everybody who wants to buy a PS5 on launch day will be able to find one,” he says, but the company is “working as hard as we ever can” to make sure there are enough to go around.
