⁍ Kyle Busch won the weather-delayed NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on Wednesday.

⁍ It was the Las Vegas native’s 57th career win and marked the 16th straight season in which he has won at least one race.

⁍ Busch got the win by saving fuel — lots of fuel — on his final stint and by holding off Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Martin Truex Jr.
Truex now needs to win next weekend at Martinsville in order to advance to the title-granting Championship 4 race in Phoenix in two weeks.

– For the 16th straight season, Kyle Busch has won a race. And for the third time in four years, he did so in the final event of the NASCAR Cup Series season. Busch won Wednesday night at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, giving him his 57th career win and his streak of consecutive seasons with a win at least one, reports ESPN. “It’s been a really long time,” said Busch, whose streak is the second-longest in NASCAR history. “We’re out of the playoffs, there’s nothing to shoot for. We don’t ever give up. This one means a lot just to keep the 16 going, obviously.” Busch, who won at Texas in November 2016 and at Martinsville in October 2017, took the lead on the final lap when he conserved fuel. Martin Truex Jr. finished second, putting him in a tough spot to advance to the next round of the playoffs. “We knew he was close,” Truex said. “The only thing we could do at that point, which we did all day anyway, was just run flat out. I’m just excited about Martinsville (next Sunday). I know we can win there, we’ve showed that in the past.”
