⁍ Lithium miner Orocobre Ltd said quarterly production at its flagship Olaroz mine dropped 24%.

– The price of a key mineral used in everything from cell phones to cars may have hit an all-time low, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to panic just yet. The price of lithium, which is used in everything from batteries to cell phones, dropped to an all-time low of $3,547 per metric ton on Thursday, reports Reuters. Orocobre Ltd, the world’s third-largest lithium producer, said that production at its flagship Olaroz mine in Argentina dropped 24% in the third quarter from a year earlier because of a coronavirus outbreak. But the company said it now believes the price of lithium, which hit an all-time low of $3,080 per metric ton last month, has likely bottomed out.
