– The European Union is threatening to cut off aid to Ukraine if its government doesn’t clean up its act, after the country’s supreme court struck down anti-corruption laws this week, Reuters reports. The EU says it will cut off aid if the government doesn’t do more to fight corruption, which it says is one of the main causes of the country’s economic crisis. “The main condition for us to continue providing financial assistance to Ukraine is the fight against corruption, which is one of the main causes of the economic crisis in the country,” a spokesman for the EU’s enlargement commissioner says.
