– The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 500 points today, and all three major indexes were on track for their worst day of the year, as the market opened on what MarketWatch describes as a “bear market.” The sell-off was broad-based, with all three major indexes down more than 2%. “The market is vulnerable to these ‘bad headlines,’ because investors are generally so optimistic right now,” one investment strategist tells Reuters. “The market is set up for disappointment at this point.”
