⁍ Santander says it will start talks with unions in Spain about job cuts.
– Spain’s Bankia has announced plans to cut 4,000 jobs—or 7% of its workforce—as part of a cost-cutting drive, Reuters reports. The bank, the country’s fourth-largest, says it will sell off non-core assets and cut costs by ⁇ 1 billion ($1.3 billion) by the end of the year. The move comes after the bank announced plans to raise ⁇ 6.5 billion in a rights issue last month.
