– TikTok, the wildly popular Chinese video-sharing app, is teaming up with Canadian e-commerce company Shopify to make it easier for its one-million-plus users to buy products, Reuters reports. TikTok users will be able to click on an ad to buy the product they’ve uploaded. “We’re thrilled to be the first partner to welcome TikTok to the world of commerce, particularly right now, as our merchants prepare for a busy online holiday shopping season,” the VP of Product at Shopify says. TikTok, which reaches 100 million US users a month, says it was always looking for new ways to connect brands with its users. “TikTok aggregates a massive audience for branding and as a Shopify user, you can allow third party advertisers to use your videos you upload in their advertisements,” an investment bank director says. “This is key for TikTok users who have good content and lots of followers.” (Walmart is still interested in buying a stake in TikTok.)
