– Advanced Micro Devices has agreed to buy rival Intel in a $35 billion deal that will create the world’s No. 1 maker of microprocessors, reports the Wall Street Journal. Latham & Watkins and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom will be the firms advising on the deal, which still must be approved by both boards of directors of both companies. The move follows Intel’s $9 billion deal with South Korean rival SK Hynix last week, notes Westlaw Today.
