– Unilever is planning a $1 billion investment to make itself less reliant on fossil fuels, the Financial Times reports. The company will spend the money to make its laundry and cleaning products less reliant on fossil fuels, which account for about a third of the company’s energy costs. The move is part of a plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050, the Guardian reports. The investment will also allow the company to source more renewable energy.
