– The World Health Organization reported a record 307,930 new cases of coronavirus in the 24 hours ending yesterday, with India leading the way with 94,372 cases. The US came in second with 45,523 cases, and Brazil third with 43,718, Reuters reports. The total number of cases worldwide now stands at 917,417, with 874 deaths, according to the WHO. The disease has been surging in India this year, with a record 97,570 cases reported in a single day last week. In some parts of India, medical oxygen is becoming hard to find as total cases exceed 4.75 million. Only the US has recorded more cases at 6.5 million.
