– Oil and gas production along the Gulf Coast has been shut down as Hurricane Sally bears down on the region, the second major hurricane to hit the region in recent weeks. The National Hurricane Center says Sally, a Category 2 storm with winds of up to 110mph, is expected to make landfall as a Category 1 hurricane near the Louisiana-Texas border late Monday or early Tuesday, the AP reports. The last major hurricane to hit the Gulf Coast was Hurricane Ike in 2008.
