⁍ Pfizer plans to start a pivotal trial on the gene therapy in ambulatory patients in the next several weeks.


⁍ The company modified the regimen for the drug earlier this year after three patients had to be hospitalized.


– Pfizer says it has given an experimental drug to an additional nine boys suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, bringing the total number of patients who have been given the drug to 30, Reuters reports. The drug, which uses a gene therapy to fight the incurable disease, is currently in a mid-stage trial and the company plans to start a pivotal trial in ambulatory patients in the next several weeks.
