⁍ The remnants of Hurricane Sally dumped more than a foot of rain over the U.S. Southeast on Thursday, killing at least one person.
⁍ Sally brought torrential rains and flash flooding to Alabama and Georgia as it sped toward the Carolinas.
⁍ Some 433,000 homes and businesses in Alabama, Georgia and Florida remained without power.
– The remnants of Hurricane Sally continued to soak the Southeast on Thursday, causing more than a foot of rain in some areas and leaving one person dead, Reuters reports. The storm, which made landfall on the Florida Panhandle on Wednesday, was downgraded to a tropical storm Thursday morning. It was moving toward Georgia and the Carolinas.
