– A Virginia attorney who tried to extort $200 million from a company that makes a chemical used in Monsanto’s Roundup weedkiller has been sentenced to two years in prison. Timothy Litzenburg, 38, was also ordered to pay $200 million in restitution to the company, according to Westlaw Today. Prosecutors say Litzenburg tried to extort the money from Monsanto through his law partner, Daniel Kincheloe, who was sentenced to one year in prison for his role in the scheme.
