⁍ Teddy weakened into a Category 3 hurricane over the central Atlantic on Friday.


⁍ The hurricane was located about 520 miles (835 km) northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands.


– Hurricane Teddy was downgraded to a Category 3 storm early Friday as it moved over the central Atlantic, centered about 520 miles northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands, Reuters reports. According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm, which was initially a Category 4, is now a Category 3, with maximum sustained winds of 125 miles per hour. The storm is expected to weaken over the weekend.
