– One of the biggest names in e-sports has left his team. The Verge reports that Damian “daps” Steele, a 27-year-old champion in the “real” version of the game “Counter-Strike: Source,” is a free agent after spending the last year with the Gen.G team. “This move will benefit both parties as I can potentially find something I believe in again and they will do better if they can find an IGL [in-game leader] that has faith in the project that I once had pandemic,” Steele wrote in a Facebook post Friday. Steele was the best player in the world last year in the “real” version of the game, according to the Christian Science Monitor. He was the best in the world in the “Counter-Strike: Source” tournament last year before Gen.G won the championship. Steele is a native of Latvia.
